Ultimate Quilt Resize Calculator

This calculator determines how many blocks you will need to reach a desired quilt size as well as the fabric requirements.

You will need 9 blocks arranged 3 blocks across and 3 blocks down. The finished size of this quilt will measure 79 inches x 91 inches.

BLOCK FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:
   White Yardage = 3 1/2 yards
   Black Yardage = 1 1/2 yards
   Background Yardage = 2 3/4 yards

SASHING REQUIREMENTS: You will need 1 1/4 yard(s) of sashing fabric cut along the WOF into fifteen strips 2 1/2" wide.

NON-MITERED BORDERS: You will need 1 yard(s) of border one fabric cut along the WOF into eight strips 4 1/2" wide.
OR MITERED BORDERS: You will need 1 yard(s) of border one fabric cut along the WOF into eight strips 4 1/2" wide.

BINDING: You will need 3/4 yard(s) of 42 inch fabric cut into nine strips measuring 2 1/2 inches wide. This will leave you with a remaining piece of fabric measuring 4 1/2 inches by 42 inches.

BACKING WITH HORIZONTAL SEAMS: You will need 7 1/4 yard(s) of 42 inch fabric cut into three strips measuring 87 inches each.
OR BACKING WITH VERTICAL SEAMS: You will need 8 1/4 yards of 42 inch fabric cut into three strips measuring 99 inches each.
